Services

To create a supportive environment, the Department provides the following services:

Student Advising Program

The Student Advising Program aims to guide freshman students in exploring their world of tertiary education. This program is offered by the school to properly monitor students’ performance and attendance in all concerned subjects. Faculty members from the MPS Department and HuSoCom Department are given this task since these are the service departments for first and second year. Focusing on student advising, faculty members are required to submit a monthly report of related information regarding their advisees. This aims to inform concerns given by the students like improper handling of classes done by a particular teacher. Through this program, the school administration is able to determine the problems and provide the necessary solutions. Also, through this program, students are given opportunity to air their sentiments on family, studies, lovelife, etc. in which, when needed, advisers will refer the students to the Guidance Office.

Enhancement Program

The school offers tutorial classes conducted by the MPS Department to enhance the mathematical and scientific skills of all students during their first and second year in the College. This program is part of the services rendered by the faculty members of the MPS Department, which is free of charge for the students. This enhancement program is designed to improve students’ grades by developing critical thinking and problem-solving techniques. Faculty members assigned in different subjects conduct tutorial classes by conceptual teachings and applications. Sudents are given an opportunity to solve problems independently. Further discussion of problem solutions is done so that students can check on their understanding of the topic at hand. If the students fail to get the correct answer, the faculty will guide them on the solution of the problem.

Faculty Consultation

Faculty consultation is a venue for students to make clarifications and inquiries on their academic status, to avail of any professional assistance, or to seek information regarding missed lessons or examinations during an absence. All faculty members, both full-time and part-time, are required to render this service for free.
