Community Extension Service Unit



Vision


An efficient and effective unit of the Student Affairs and Community Services Offices that organizes and mobilizes its resources to provide opportunities to Associates and students to get involved in community outreach activities in order to collectively promote and address the rights and/or needs of marginalized communities.


Mission


The Community Extension Service Unit commits itself in sharing its expertise with marginalized communities and/or organizations through Technology Transfer, Livelihood Skills Training, Environment Initiative, Social Awareness Building, Volunteerism Spirit and Resource Mobilization.


Objectives


  • To enhance the expertise of marginalized communities and/or organizations on technological skills by conducting various short-term technology transfer training programs;
  • To enhance the socio-economic capacity of the marginalized communities by providing livelihood skills training projects;
  • To promote concern and pro-active response to address ecological issues by providing opportunities to Associate to participate in environmental projects;
  • To increase the awareness of the Associates and student with the current social issues/problems by conducting Social Issue Awareness Seminars/Symposia;
  • To promote and/or enhance the spirit of volunteerism between and among the Associates and students by conducting volunteer formation training programs;
  • To generate needed resources to facilitate the implementation of college community involvement projects by conducting resource generation programs;
