FEU - East Asia College respond to call for Bayanihan
October 19, 2009
FEU - East Asia College organized “Operation: Ondoy” from September 30, 2009 to October 1, 2009. It is a community extension program jointly organized by SACSO-CESU and the Student Coordinating Council (SCC), which aims to provide immediate relief assistance in Barangay Bagong Silangan, and other communities affected by Typhoon Ondoy. The activity began with the appeal to all Associates and students through email, SMS, and social networking sites to donate cash and/or in-kind donations.
In spite of suspension of classes and flooded areas all over the Metro, Associates and students find ways to go to the College to deliver their donations and help in the packing of goods. Aside from the FEU - EAC volunteers, 11 soldiers from the Philippine Army headed by 1st Lt. Eliezer M. Bejarin (INF) also participated by providing transportation and security during the actual relief distribution.
Relief goods were prepared and donated to the target community through Rev. Fr. Antonio Dela Cruz, Parish Priest of San Isidro Labrador.
