SSS Benefits and Programs Seminar
November 20, 2009
The Human Resources Office (HRO) sponsored and organized the first ever in-house Social Security System (SSS) Benefits and Programs Seminar last November 11, 2009 from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Room M-201. The main objective of the (said) seminar is to provide an overview of the various SSS programs and policies in a small group setting which is ideal for the group size of the FEU-East Asia College community. The seminar gave a good overview about the role SSS plays for each of its members. Primarily, it seeks to develop, promote and perfect a sound and viable, tax-exempt social security system suitable to the needs of the Filipino people through contingencies against hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old-age, and death.
Ms. Bella V. Bermudo, Junior Communications Specialist from the Member Relations Department of the SSS, was invited to discuss the benefits and other SSS related issues to the Associates. All of the 47 participants' questions were accurately and properly answered by the knowledgeable and competent speaker. No stones were left unturned during the open forum. It pays to know one's responsibilities as members of SSS as well as to know all possible means to enjoy and avail his/her entitlements.
