ECESS Brings Back the Glory

December 18, 2009

After two consecutive years of attempting to snatch the crown, finally the Electronics and Communications Engineering Students Society (ECESS) brought back the glory to their group as they knocked out other competing teams in the Friendship Games 2009.
A mammoth crowd filled the FEU Quadrangle as this year’s Friendship Games Over-all Champion ECESS crushed the defending champion, WebIT, during the Women’s Volleyball Finals held last December 7, 2009. Led by captain ball, Ana Katrina Rivera, ECESS smashed the long-time rival team WebIT headed by Marie Tan, with a 3 - 1 advantage. Helping Rivera in the rally were Milky Aquino and Diana Bautista.

Leaning on a consistent system and players, WebIT on the other hand, outplayed the rest of the teams in the Men’s Volleyball division. The Most Valuable Player, Isiah Balanquit, guided the team as Dadly Encarnacion and Jimmy Dimatulac demonstrated their blocking skills during the finals against ECESS. Louise Fernandez, captain ball of ECESS, impressed the roaring audience with his exemplary attacks.
The usual performers showed up for the WebIT Basketball Team as the Most Valuable Player, Julius Aguilar,  asserted his might at will, while Mythical Five Member, Dennis James  of EESSA, showcased his stellar performance with an all-around basketball game. The rest of the powerhouse all-star cast of WebIT also contributed heavily, including Simon Duerme, Paolo Villanueva, and Bryan Episcope.
