College Welcomes New Students

July 28, 2010

More than two thousand freshmen and transferees were formally welcomed in the Freshmen Orientation cum Kick – Off Celebration held on June 24, 2010 at the FEU Auditorium, which was organized by the Guidance Unit (GU) and the Student Activities and Development Unit (SADU) of SACSO.

Executive Director Benson Tan welcomed the audience with his inspiring message focusing on the College mission of transforming new students to industry-ready professionals. Lorraine Parangue, GU Coordinator, presented to the new students the College Academic and Administrative Directors, student services, laboratories, and other facilities that the College has. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) were also answered towards the end of the orientation.

SADU Coordinator, Marlon Maglipas, opened the Kick-Off Celebration by encouraging the new students to express their leadership through joining various Recognized Student Organizations (RSO). FEU – EAC chorale welcomed the freshmen as they rendered their unique version of the song “Bongga Ka, Day”. And for the first time, the Theater Guild, Music Synergy, and Exude Dancers, which are all sub-units of the talented Artist Connections, performed as one group.

Music Synergy brought a relaxing spirit as they serenaded the two thousand plus attendees, while the Youth for Christ FEU- EAC Chapter captured the attention of the audience when they performed a very inspirational dance interpretation. The Exude Dancers, on the other hand, continued to amaze their audience with their awesome and rare dance moves.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the AVP of each organization. All RSOs wowed their audience with their creative and technologically advanced AVP as they present their respective officers, mission-vision, past and future activities.

The Kick-Off Celebration aimed to encourage new students to actively participate in different organizations. The program ended with all RSO presidents going onstage to lead the audience in singing the FEU Hymn.
