FEU - East Asia College is committed not only to molding academically excellent students but it also pledges to inspire and bring out the best in its students in every aspect of life. The College is proud to have helped nurture some very promising youth of today. One of which is Rachelle C. Masilungan, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the Computer Engineering Department.

It was not a big surprise that Ms. Masilungan became one of the finalists for the Ten Outstanding Students in the Philippines – National Capital Region (TOSP-NCR). She has maintained exemplary academic records while committing herself to leadership and socio-civic activities since she was a freshman. She has held several significant positions in student organizations such as being the president of the Computer Engineering Organization (CpEO) and the national president of the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines – Student Edition (ICpEP-SE). She has also been an active member to various recognized student organizations.

During her term, CpE Challenge 2010 – the first national event ever hosted by FEU - East Asia College – was made possible. For four years, she had been a recipient of SM Foundation Scholarship Grant. Among her notable achievements were the Most Outstanding Organization Officer Award, Leadership Award, Most Outstanding CpE Graduate, and Dr. Nicanor Reyes Excellence Award – the highest non-academic distinction given by Far Eastern University.

Ms. Masilungan has actively participated in youth involvement in political issues. She was a participant at Harapan 2010 Presidential Forum hosted by Ted Failon, where she was given a chance to test the capacity of a presidential candidate in answering questions involving national issues. She was also a debater at Punto per Punto segment of Umagang Kay Ganda hosted by Anthony Taberna.

Ms. Masilungan, bound to learning, leading, and serving for life, is an advocate of appropriate technology; that is, bringing technology closer to the common people. She believes that technology emerged for the benefit of humanity so it should be maximized in a humane way. With her advocacy, she aims to make a difference and contribute to nation building.
