1st iTam Invitational Sportsfest for High Schools

August 11, 2010

The Student Activities and Development Unit (SADU), in coordination with the Student Coordinating Council (SCC) and Recreation and Athletics Club (RAC), conducted the 1st iTam Invitational Sportsfest for High Schools on July, 17, 24, and 31, 2010 at the FEU IAS Gym.

A total of 15 teams from eight high schools, namely: Chiang Kai Shek College, Jesus is Lord College Foundation, Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, Rich Golden Shower Montessori Center, St. Andrew Academy of Q.C., St. Peter the Apostle School, Angelicum College, St. Joseph’s College and Team Mission Christian School, actively participated in the three consecutive Saturdays’ events. Participating schools were mainly from Manila, Rizal, and Bulacan.

For men’s volleyball, Jesus is Lord College Foundation emerged champion, while Rich Golden Shower Montessori Center came second. For women’s volleyball, the highly athletic Angelicum College grabbed the crown.

Basketball became the most favorite sport as Chiang Kai Shek College brought drum sets during its fight against the big and strong line-up of Jesus is Lord College Foundation. The cheers of the supporters, the loud drum rolls, and the raving crowd made it seemed like a UAAP game when the two teams competed. In the end, Jesus is Lord College Foundation emerged champion.

The 1st iTam Invitational Sportsfest for High Schools was very successful as it was able to meet its objective -- to initiate friendship among high schools as we continue to propagate sportsmanship and camaraderie to everyone.
