iTamaraw, Breaks 3 National Record and 3 Interschool Record for Powerlifting

November 24, 2010

Another breath-taking performance in Powerlifting was recorded by Jed Marc Millora, the Fourth Year BS Computer Engineering Student who recently won in the Asian Bench Press. Last October 16, 2010, he once again prevailed in the 2010 Interschool Powerlifting Championship held at the Victoria School Foundation in Cubao, Quezon City.

For this competition, Mr. Millora was able to break three National Records and three Interschool Records; these include the Interschool Bench Press, National Junior Bench Press, Single Lift Bench Press, Interschool Squat, National Junior Squat, and Total in Three Lifts. One of the records that Mr. Millora surpassed was the National Record of 212.5 kilos with his record of 215 kilos in lifts. Over-all, he was able to bring home two gold medals and one silver.

Mr. Millora bested other powerlifters from other Universities prominent in the country including some Iranian nationals. He concluded second place in over-all three lifts.

Humility has always been Jed’s key to victory. Every time he lifts, he never expects to win; rather, he gives his best effort and concentrated on it. He was inspired by the triumph of Richie Rosales, who, despite of the obstacles that he has gone through, succeeded and was labeled Philippine’s Strongest Man. He was not just merely Rosales’ follower but he was even able to best him.

Besides his success in his sport, Jed is also a candidate for graduation for this year. Indeed, he is a true model of an iTam who is excelling not just in his chosen sport but also in the program that he is endeavoring in. FEU-East Asia College is truly proud of you.
