February 26, 2011

Undoubtedly, the most enthralling thing for every student is to get hold of his diploma after years of hard work and perseverance. However, the excitement and enthusiasm a graduating student feels also comes with a major dilemma – to find the right job after graduation. Addressing this issue, FEU – East Asia College collaborated with FEU and FEU Diliman to host this year’s job fair coined Options 2011: The Power of Three.

With the participation of 101 companies, numerous work opportunities open up to students and alumni of the FEU Group. Leading the line-up of companies were Aboitiz Transport System, Accenture Inc., Araneta Group of Companies, Convergys, DB Soft Phils. Inc., Emerson, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific Ltd, IBM, JPMorgan & Chase Co., Pointwest, and Sykes Asia, Inc.

Options 2011: The Power of Three was held from February 9 to 11, 2011. Booths of different companies were set up from the 7th to 9th floor of the Technology Building. Students took advantage of the career talks and on site pre-employment activities which flooded the job fair.

The day prior to the job fair, a tripartite forum which addressed the challenges and opportunities students may encounter after graduation was conducted. The forum was represented by three sectors of the economy, namely: government, academe, and industry. Dir. Maria Criselda Sy from the Department of Labor and Employment represented the government sector; Dr. Chit J. Concepcion, President of the Association of Placement Practitioners of Colleges and Universities and concurrently the Placement Director of Ateneo de Manila University represented the academe, Mr. Peter Angelo Perfecto, Executive Director of the Makati Business Club, for the industry sector.

The commitment of the FEU group is not only to provide quality education and adequate training but more importantly, to provide opportunity for the overall success of its students. Options 2011: the Power of Three is a solid proof of this commitment.
