iTams Complete FEUAL 3-Peat

March 12, 2011

For two consecutive years, 2009 to 2010, iTamaraws have been dominating the FEU Athletic League, but they’re not stopping yet. They did it again by retaining the crown as they were hailed the over-all champion for this year.

Proving that FEU - East Asia College is committed to the overall development of every iTam, the College joined FEUAL 2011 which aimed to mold, through sports activities, well-rounded individuals who will be future leaders. This friendship league held from February 9 to 28, 2011 was also participated by the Institutes of Accounts, Banking and Finance, Institute of Nursing, Institute of Arts and Sciences, Institute of Education and Institute of Architecture & Fine Arts.

From being first runner-up last year, the men’s basketball team snatched the championship award from its opponents. This year’s MVP, Terence Tumalip, together with his teammates showed their thirst for victory as they successfully overpowered IABF in the final round.

The men’s volleyball team retained the Championship title for this year as Louie Fernandez’ moves and flashy powers at the court made him this year’s MVP. The women’s team, on the other hand, made it this time after bagging the 1st runner-up title.

iTams also kept their title in Chess and Table Tennis as they topped almost all the divisions. The moves and strategies of the iTam Chess team still surprised their opponent, leaving the latter no room for defense during the battle. At the same time, the Table Tennis group never ceased to impress not only the crowd but also their opponents with their power grips and strokes. The Badminton group also showed their fighting agilities as they set the game on fire and victoriously took over in almost every division.

Finally, with their spectacular and daring maneuvers, FEU-EAC’s Tech Squad made their way to the top and seized the 2nd runner-up title in the FEUAL 2011 Inter-Institute Cheering Competition.

With eight championship awards and five runners-up title out of thirteen, FEU - East Asia College still proves to be the leading athletic group of the university.
