iTamaraw is Best Industrial Engineering Student of the Philippines

While FEU - East Asia College continues its commitment of producing top-caliber students, another iTamaraw joins the College’s roster of Champions as Dan Lester S. Mendoza was hailed one of the best Industrial Engineering (IE) students in the country by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE). Along with seven other students from all over the country, Mr. Mendoza was awarded during the 11th PIIE National Congress on March 11-12, 2011 at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City.
Highlighting the goal of education while encouraging the youths to aspire for the improvement of the quality of human life and society, the PIIE Campus Achievement Award was conceived to award graduating IE students who imbibe the vision of PIIE in education that can be reflected through their activities. They must show good academic standing that reflects balance in the academic and extra curricular activities and embody the Filipino values and heritage.
True to these descriptions, Mr. Mendoza shines not only in the academic field but in the leadership and performing arts as well. The two-time President of the Student Coordinating Council (SCC) and the Vice President of the PIIE National Student Chapter is also a senior member of the College’s cheering squad. He was recognized by the Knights of Rizal on December 2010 and was hailed one of the Outstanding Jose Rizal Model Students. Mr. Mendoza is also one of the five recipients of this year’s scholarship grant from the Association of Filipino-American Engineers in Washington D.C. (AFEW) for his research on the unification of the ticketing system of LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3.
The consistent recognitions and acknowlegements given to iTamaraws are a proof to FEU - East Asia College’s objective of producing top-rated students who will contribute to the betterment of the society.
