New iTAM breed flocks FEU-EAC

June 08, 2011

Hitting a higher number in population this school year, FEU-East Asia College welcomed the new breed of iTamaraws through the Annual Freshmen Orientation Kick-Off Celebration held on June 8, 2011 at the FEU Auditorium. With an attendance of 2, 500 freshmen and transferees, the rain was not able to stop the flooding of the new iTams.

Spearheaded by the Student Activities and Development Unit of the Student Affairs and Community Services Office, the event was started by a Doxology and National Anthem led by the Theater Guild and FEU-EAC Chorale. This was then followed by the welcoming speech given by Dr. May Rose Imperial and Executive Director Benson Tan reminding the students that the FEU-EAC administration is always more than willing to help them with their concerns.

As the highlight of the event, the 22 Recognized Student Organizations were presented to the body through their five-minute audio-visual presentations. The creative crafting of the presentations did not only awe and amaze the audience but also informed them of the mission-vision, officers, past activities and future plans of each organization.

The celebration was further fired up as the Artist Connection (AC), composed of Music Synergy, Theater Guild and Exude Dancers soothed and grooved the attendees with their intermission number. Presenting their distinctive expertise, Music Synergy performed a set of songs while Theater Guild portrayed a short play about feminism. Exude Dancers, on the other hand, set the hip-hop beat as they render the last performance from the AC.

Inculcating Fortitude, Excellence and Uprightness to the new iTams, the Kick-Off Celebration culminated with the FEU Hymn led by the RSO presidents.
