FEU-EAC shares MILO’s commitment on Building Champions

August 24, 2011

For 35 years now, the National MILO Marathon has been providing running shoes to the underprivileged children. Coinciding with Nestle’s centennial year, the event holds the biggest advocacy campaign to date – 100 public schools with 100 running shoes each.

In support to this advocacy, FEU – East Asia College gathered its students, associates and alumni at the grounds of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on July 31, 2011 to join the elimination race of the country’s biggest marathon event. Although drenched in the rain, the marathoners were persistent enough to finish the race.

The marathon was even spiced up by the side-events including an inter-school competition for cheer dance, soccer mini-games and basketball shootout. The FEU-EAC Tech Squad emerged champion in the college level of the cheer dance competition besting over Philippine Women’s University, Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig and University of Caloocan City. With their energetic stunts, daring maneuvers and clean routines, the squad showed that they have what it takes to win a national competition.

In line with its commitment to building a nation of champions, MILO – which believes that ‘great things start from small beginnings’- provides the underprivileged children with something they can wear to become champions. As an institution committed to the holistic well-being of its students, FEU – East Asia College shares MILO’s mission of building champions not just in sports, not just in school, but also in life.
