1st Invitational Physics Investigatory Project

As it continues to be a venue for bringing out the creative ideas of the students as well as promoting the wonders of Science and Technology, FEU – East Asia College held the 1st Invitational Physics Investigatory Project on October 26, 2011 at the Mini Auditorium. With the cooperation of the Admission and External Relations Office (AERO), the Physics Society (PhySo) gathered some of the most prominent High Schools from the National Capital Region to showcase their innate talent in creating useful yet affordable Physics project.

The FEU-EAC community and invited High School students were amazed by the participating schools’ projects which were presented and defended in front of the judges. The Cyrothermal Box of the Pasig City Science High School grabbed the first place after impressing the judges with the lunchbox which uses peltier devices that keep the food inside hot or cold. Up on the second place was Pasig Catholic School for its project entitled Light Cycle which aimed to produce electricity using a self-made device. Lastly, the Rizal National Science High School came in third for its project entitled Community-based Flood Alarm System via TxT Alert which monitors the water level of creeks, rivers and lakes within the community and transmits the data via text messages as warning signal.

Qualifiers for the 1st Invitational Physics Project also include Manila Science High School, Vicente Madrigal National High School, and Caloocan City Science High School. This event is part of the 19th College Week celebration of FEU – East Asia College.
