With the theme, “Leveling Up: Best Practices in Campus Advising and Student Leadership”, the four-day convention was attended by numerous student leaders and campus advisers from different universities and colleges nationwide. It was highlighted with several plenary talks from distinguished and well-respected speakers from Philippine media, business, education, and marketing industries.

One of the events attended by the iTams was the seminar facilitated by Dr. Evelyn A. Songco entitled “Beyond Expectations in Campus Advising and Student Leadership”, which aimed to strengthen and redefine the roles, purposes, and goals of campus advisers and student leaders. FEU-EAC students also shared their talents during the Cultural Night Presentation held on the last night of the convention.

A month after the PACSA convention, the College also sent two student leaders in the 49th National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (NRYLI) Conference on December 10-14, 2011 at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City. Joined by SADU Coordinator Marlon Maglipas, Rizza Castro (iTambayani President) and Evan Louie Mercado (The Cursor Editor-in-Chief) attended the five-day conference.

This year’s NRYLI carried the theme “Kabata ni Jose: Pag-asa ng Bayan” and aimed to instill among student leaders the learning from the stories of youthful leaders who epitomize the Kabata ni Jose by espousing advocacies and starting initiatives to uplift the country in the global community.

Relevant topics were discussed by notable individuals, one of which was Cesar Montano who once portrayed the national hero in the monumental film “Rizal”. The multi-awarded movie actor’s keynote speech focused on the use of skills and talents in proliferating the idealism and teachings of our national hero. Attended by over 500 delegates from various schools and universities, the conference ended with a film showing on Rizal’s life.
