iChange Youth Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Seminar Workshop

December 02, 2011

There has always been a constant challenge to make our young leaders of today become more active in engaging themselves into relevant matters and issues of the society. This challenge upholds that the involvement of the youth, which comprises the biggest number of our population, can make a big impact if they can be part of the solution on issues and problems regarding education, poverty, unemployment and brain drain, environment and calamities, and politics and governance among others.

To address this challenge, the Student Affairs and Community Services Office, in partnership with Ateneo de Manila University - School of Government’s Youth Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Unit (AdU-SGYLSEU), conducted a seminar on entrepreneurship entitled “iChange Youth Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Seminar Workshop” on November 11 and 12, 2011. Fifty student leaders and four representatives from the Colleges adopted community actively participated in this two-day workshop that focused on the importance of social enterprise.

AdU – SGYLSEU held lectures and exciting group activities on the first day of the workshop. On the second day, student leaders were tasked to present their sustainable social enterprise ideas that could be applied in FEU-EAC or their communities.

To equip student leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge is a big step towards honing their hearts and minds to become big change makers. And with that, we see the start of a new breed of leaders that are ready to take the challenge in making sustainable efforts for the community.
