December 02, 2011

Aside from topping the Licensure Examination since 2007, the Civil Engineering Department of FEU – East Asia College once again demonstrated its excellence in the field as it joined the 5th Don Tomas Mapua Civil Engineering Quiz Show on November 11, 2011.

Kevin Tanguin, a graduating CE student, placed 2nd in the competition held at the Mapua Institute of Technology in Intramuros, Manila. Sixty participants from over 20 schools joined the competition, which was an individual quiz contest composed of three rounds of problem-solving questions. Tanguin’s triumph came from behind as he placed last in the elimination round. He then snatched the sudden-death question against the remaining seven schools that enabled him to qualify to the last round. At the end of the competition, he landed at 2nd place besting the defending champion from TUP-Manila.

Together with Kevin Tanguin, Bartholomew Atom Bacon, 5th year, and William Serrano, 4th year, were also able to demonstrate their smarts in the competition with the assistance of their mentor Engr. Michael Baylon.

Topping the Civil Engineering Examinations is one thing, but winning in the Civil Engineering Quiz Show is another. This is a testimony of FEU – East Asia College’s commitment to excellence.
